    Hi,
This is quite a long shot but I worked for Midland bank for two years in my late teens, 17-19 years old, and wondered if I ever paid into any sort of pension scheme way back then and if I may be entitled to anything.
Hi, I worked for the Midland Bank from the age of 18-20 back in the early 80s. I certainly don’t recall paying into a pension scheme however I contacted HSBC a few years ago who confirmed I was a pension scheme member and I took a lump sum payment earlier this year when I turned 60.
The Midland/HSBC DB scheme was non-contributory until relatively late, until 2009 or something like that.

Incidentally I was just glancing over the Imperial Tobacco Scheme Guide for pre 2002 entrants - membership was available from age 16.

Hi there - I worked at Midland Bank for 4 years between 1978 & 1982 straight from school and trying to tidy my pensions up - could you advise who/how you contacted HSBC please?

My wild guess would be 'no' for the reasons Marcon gave, however contact the current administrators, EQ (https://myhsbcpension.eqtpa.co.uk/contacts/ - you'll want the Defined Benefit Members contact given hybrid membership postdates the HSBC takeover of Midland).
    Here's the relevant contact info.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
