Adult Disability Scotland Award

Hi there,
Looking for advice for my friend. He was originally on PIP and was on the lower mobility amount. Over the years his health has worsened and he needs a lot more care. PIP recently transferred his claim to Adult Disability Scotland and my friend applied for a change in circumstance to try and get more money as the amount he was getting wasn’t covering the amount of care he was now needing. Adult disability Scotland sent out a form and my friend completed it and sent it away along with medical records, list of prescriptions and a letter from the doctor. Adult disability Scotland replied saying that my friend was already transferred to Adult Disability Scotland so the previous award for low mobility would continue. Confused my friend called and they said that my friend had completed the incorrect form
and would need to complete a change of circumstances form (although this is what he asked for initially). So a new change of circumstances form was sent and my friend completed and returned it and was awarded the higher amount on both components. The issue is it was only backdated to when the change of circumstance form was sent rather than the initial form when his care needs changed. Would it be worth while contacting Adult Disability Scotland and making them aware of this?
thanks
