General Portfolio Life Insurance Company - Some Help From 1981

My dad has recently come across some paperwork for a policy he took out with General Portfolio Life Insurance Company back in 1981. He has all the original paperwork including policy number, installments paid and sum assured. I can see from the paperwork it went to Reassure and the last letter we have from 2012 from family investments when we tried to trace the policy. Family Investments came back and said they couldn't find it. With my mum recently passing away the paperwork has re-surfaced and I would love anyone's help in directing me to any business that may be able to help and trace. Thanks
