Salamander HomeBoost Intelligent Mains Booster Pump

Hi.
A friend has had one of these installed to boost their mains supply in their high-up flat to a Grundfos pumped accumulator, so it refills more quickly - they previously had issues when it was fully drained when they had visitors. It seemed to do the trick - it certainly fired up to help the refill rate - but it seems to have stopped.
They can hear the Grundfos trickle-fill, but the Salamander doesn't fire up. They can sometimes prompt it to do so by turning other taps on and off, but then it makes a screeching sound.
I've asked Salamander a few Qs about how it operates, emailing them, leaving a 'chat' message, but more than a week on there has been no reply. That is pants.
Anyone familiar with these pumps? The Qs were:
1) What flow rate triggers it to fire up?
2) Can this be adjusted?
3) The plumber installed it with the green scrolling LED logo uppermost, and I don't see that option in their installation instructions. Anyone know if this is a no-no?
Thanks.
UPDATE: I got through...
1) 3lpm
2) No, cannot be adjusted.
3) Apparently ok - only having the logo on the underside, or pump inlet drawing down from above is outlawed.
