Dry Ridge System

Options
Got two alternative quotes for some roof work on a 1900 three storey end terrace.

1) Repoint all ridge tiles and do slate repairs as required £950 +VAT

2) Remove and replace ridge tiles with a dry ridge system, slate repairs as required. All waste removed and gutters cleared £1200 +VAT

Is it worth paying the extra to replace the ridge or is the traditional mortar system better on a property of this age?

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to old roofs. If the ridge tiles are on a bed of mortar, replace like with like. Dry ridge systems often only have a guarantee of 10 to 25 years.
Did my ridge tiles last year. The old ones had been up there without issue for over 90 years. The new ones are set in mortar, I don't expect them to need touching for another 80-100 years.
