We are having some repairs done to our chimney stack, the quote given seems reasonable and is the best of three.

I recently asked what the additional cost of a snowguard would be, just for the rear of the property (semi detached).  This would be just as a precaution against falling tiles over the conservatory.  The quote was additional £500 excluding VAT.

Scaffolding will be there for the chimney job, so I'm not sure why the cost of the snow guard is so high.  Especially when considering the cost of the materials https://www.building-supplies-online.co.uk/roofing/roofing-accessories/weatherproofing/tile-snow-guards-safety.html

Thoughts appreciated.
