Economy 7 Meters, but want a standard tariff with Outfox

I have a separate economy 7 meter, ie day and night readings, although I'm currently with Scottish Power on a normal tariff and they charge the same for both day and night rates.

I wish to switch to a fixed rate now elsewhere, and Outfox the Market are the cheapest ( after Octopus put up their rates this morning, grrrr )

However, Outfox are quoting an economy 7 tariff which works out £11 a month more than a normal one (because my night usage is so low) Prices below:

Outfox economy 7 rates - overall cost £237.35 a month
Day rate 28.685p per kWh
Economy7 unit rate 12.342p per kWh

Outfox single meter rate - overall cost £226.79 a month !
Electricity unit rate:22.392p per kWh.

I've asked them if I can have the normal tariff, and not an economy seven one - other companies like Octopus, EDF and Scottish Power etc can do this so I'm hoping they will can too (they just take both readings and charge a single rate for both)

My question is, has anyone else had experience of this, and managed to get a non-Econ 7 tariff, despite having day and night meters?

Many thanks in advance

I did this with Scottish Power. It takes them 8 working days to schedule a remote reconfiguration of a smart meter from dual rate to single. After that you will have access to single rate tariffs from SP and and other suppliers.
I'm not sure what the process would be if you don't have or don't want a smart meter.

Many if not most suppliers (but not Ovo) will bill any type of Economy 7 meter at single rate without a meter change.  It's just an admin change.
The problem can be that comparisons often look up your meter type and will automatically offer an E7 tariff if an E7 meter is detected.

I recently got my elderly mother on to the 'same as July price cap' fixed tariff British Gas were offering. Fine except that she has an E7 meter and was being charged at single rate - they call this 'anytime readings' on the bill, but when the change was made she was somehow put back on to the dual rate which is no good for her. I'm now up to my fourth attempt to get this sorted. The last rep/bot told me it can't be done without a meter change. When I said she'd had this precise arrangement until three weeks ago, there was no response other than it still couldn't be done.  Very frustrating. I'm having another go tomorrow.

I'm actually going through this right now. I inherited the house from my parents, and we've been on E7 since forever, but now I'm not sure why, as I worked out a single rate would be cheaper. I signed up with OTFM in July, but the move didn't happen until August, to fit in with the ending of my previous fix with my old supplier. I just got onto them and said I wanted to move onto the single rate and they said ok. But I've got to wait until meter is fully connected to their system, however, which for some reason takes weeks...........

Not true, I'm afraid. OVO have for years been moving E7 customers from dual- to single-rate remotely, with no meter exchange necessary. I know - I did it two years ago. Going the other way is more problematic, though.

Isn't that then only if already smart if can be changed remotely - and not any type.

That doesn't make any sense at all when all that's involved is adding two readings together and charging the total at one price.

But it takes weeks to connect to the meter.

I've just called Ovo and they've confirmed they can't bill a conventional E7 meter at single rate.
