OTP codes and no mobile signal

Do they actually live in a location with no mobile signal, or is it that there is no signal for the provider they use? if it's the latter then a simple solution could be to find out which providers do have a reasonable signal there (and it doesn't have to be that good for OTP texts) and switch their number.

HSBC and First Direct do not use OTP codes delivered over mobile phones.
First Direct are also known for their customer service and telephone banking..0 -
Beware, mobile phones with wifi may connect you to the internet and email, but OTPs arriving via email restrict you to a maximum transfer of £500. [ and see above - today I had to go through the OTP procedure for a £15 purchase ]0
