thanks all for your advice. me and my son went on ebay and other sites like auctions and compared prices and conditions and totted our lot up to around £300 got back to sons mate who originally offered us £130 and sold to him for £250. i think we did a good job for a sunday afternoon without any hassle.0

glad you found out the true value of them.. my youngest son is well into his model trains....etc... and if he was here now could tell you exactly how much was worth... auction house price and re-sell price....
the value is in the actual engines.... the wagons etc you can pick up faily cheaply at the specialist shows etc....Work to live= not live to work0 -
i would have given you the 130 quid sight unseen.
as been said, the engines is where the money is.
prob 200 quids, locomotives worth alone.
hornby OO is very busy on ebay. the middle aged male collectors are mad and have the money to spend on their hobby.Get some gorm.0 -
ormus, they are in mint condition some not even taken out of the boxes .6 engines costing between £70 and £90 when brand new plus numerous buildings costing £10 a time still boxed and metres of track both rigid and flexible and of course the wagons and coaches. i could still change my mind if £350 quids on offer with no postage.0
