I've just been reading the other threads about EDF smart meters for Econ 7. I am hoping to fix with EDF (am currently with them) but this will enforce a smart meter installation.
Is anyone with EDF, on Eco 7 and can give their experience please?
I will not be happy if I lose my split times (currently 10:30-12:30 and 2:30-7:30 for winter night cheaper times) and be forced to have a 7 hour block of off-peak time instead. Does anyone have split times with EDF?
I have storage heaters, One is modern but has an internal timer requiring to be set. One switches itself on via the wiring. One is old and has a manual, external timer. What do I need to check for that the storage heaters won't messed up? I would hate for them to suddenly have random charging times or for me to be charged peak rate for charging.
Can anyone reassure me that EDF, smart meters and Econ 7 are a good fit? Otherwise I am tempted to stay on variable, switch off a heater and be cold!
EDF customer service is not exactly great so I don't feel I can rely on what they tell me...
