Bought a potted Chrysamthamum (spelling????) last yr covered in small white daisy flowers.
Planted in garden last Autumn but no flowers at all this yr.
It has grown tallish rather than wide and not even any buds.  What have I done wrong or not done?

Mine hasn't any buds yet either - they flower VERY late once planted out. In the pot when you buy them they have been forced

Ah! I wondered about that as I think I bought it late spring covered in flowers.  Even so, no sign of any buds at all but apart from that looks quite healthy

No, I haven't had any luck with the chrysanths that I've bought potted and planted out.
Not sure why but they don't seem to survive.
Used to have chrysanths that went on and on each year and then came the virus that knocked them all and since they dealt with that the new varieties seem to be too fickle. It's worth looking into online to find out why

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    1. August to mid-January and are divided into those that flower mid-August to mid-September (earlies), before the frosts and can therefore be grown in the garden, and those that flower mid-October onwards (lates), which are normally grown in pots so that they can be more easily brought in and flowered in a greenhouse. Those that flower in between these dates are called mid-season.

Yes, I have just noticed the buds are slowly opening now.
It's  in a bit of a sheltered spot but I think it is finally on the way.

Funny, because I thought I had bought it in spring last year and it was in full flower. Maybe I bought it later.

They are forced for sale. Mine was gifted to me in full flower in early August
