I contacted the land owner and explained the situation to see if they could help. All they did was direct me to appeal on their website...
Errr... the PPC is NOT the landowner. It sounds as though you contacted the PPC and they told you appeal on THEIR website. Is that correct?

Sorry I should have explained better. I contacted the business park, who owns the land, who told me to contact the PPC (Ipark).

Forget all of that and defend the claim using the Template Defence.  This is a no-brainer because even if you lost at a hearing you'd pay less than the claim.

And DCB discontinue before hearings anyway!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi everyone,

With some further back and forth with the land owner they got Ipark to drop the PCN and the claim. So no defense or anything now needed.  I'd imagine they'll send me a discontinuation letter or something asap.

Thanks for the help anyways, I'm going to be more vigilant with regards to car parks now because if you give these PPC's even an inch they try and take a mile. I at least now understand how to deal with a PCN properly now as well, I shouldn't have just ignored it.

Until you actually get a Notice of Discontinuance you must err on the side of caution.

For the moment, continue preparing your Defence within the timescales mentioned earlier in the thread.

Good evening, I went to submit the AOS as suggested and it says: "The Claimant has notified that the claim has been discontinued. You cannot respond to the claim at this time. ". I literally don't have the option to respond. So there you go, no defense needed. Thank you for the helps anyway peeps.

I would put in the mcol guide where the password is (it took me ages to find it on the front I thought it would be in the response pack). I don't think the guide mentions that this can appear on the mcol if the claimant drops it but there you go.

I never received a letter of discontinuation.

    Great!  Another discontinuance.

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Could you show us a clear screenshot of the discontinued message, so we can count it on the thread by @Umkomaas

Just recorded in the disco thread. 👍
