    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Yeah she's the centre of the friendship group and we all love her so should be fine...🤞

Turns out that I'm not the only one coming out that day now so won't get to enjoy being on my own for too long 🤣

Made it into the office today and the journey by train wasn't too bad, although I did wince that the cost of getting here is double what I would usually pay to drive.  Really hoping the car is an easy fix tomorrow as think I'll be using it a bit more as there's talk of us having to be in the office at least twice a week going forward.  No idea how that's going to work as there's barely enough desks for us when it's only one team in each day.

We managed to mist coat the downstairs on Saturday (took 7 hours) and then base coat it on Sunday so still living in absolute chaos.  Plan is to prep during the week (caulking, cleaning, taping up) and hopefully painting the ceilings properly on Friday night and then the walls on Saturday and Sunday.  Have had to order more paint as Dulux told me that I'd need less than 5 litres for 2 coats but we went way over that with one coat of white yesterday 🙄

On the money front it's payday on Thursday and I have about £150 left that hasn't been allocated to anything.  Will move that to the house pot to go towards blinds / shutters / some kind of window covering as the ones in our bedroom came down when it was being plastered (they were awful anyway).  Would really love shutters but they are expensive for what they are.  But they look nice 😂

Camping in a muddy field. Thankfully back end of August so not too cold but it wasn't very glamorous I was glad to have a bath when I got home 🤣

  • I love shutters too Ruby - although our house came with some not too bad white wooden blinds so we've left them up after a good clean (they were filthy- we think from coal being burned in the fire?)   ...in awe at all your progress!
