I have one of these TD and I love it! It's much cheaper to run than a normal one too.3

If you can clean the heat exchanger, for the love of God do so! I didn't realise until 6 months after we bought our first HT tumble dryer and it essentially became an expensive brick

Agree 100% on the cost of food at the moment. Both Sainsbury's and Morrisons currently have Quorn mince on offer for 1.2kg for £5. I don't like soya mince but Quorn is pretty decent for a meat analogue3 -

Oh thanks for the heads up @edinburgher - will add that to the list of maintenance checks each month 👍 Also need to register it for the warranty.
Had a quiet weekend with a little day trip to Worthing for a bracing walk along the coast and some lovely tea and cake from a local independent shop. Had grand plans of sorting the house out on Sunday but needed a bit of relaxation time while DH was out watching the NFL because it's been a week *phew*.
On a more positive note, it's pay day on Friday and I had money left over in the current account that I don't need for any direct debits so I've managed to actually put the extra cash I needed into the pot for the new dining chairs so will be checking with DH that he's happy for me to pull the trigger and buy them (for less than the RRP thanks to stacking a discount code and cashback on buying vouchers for the purchase).
Also added more money to the LISA so I'm now at 40% of the way there and only a little bit behind where I should be so feeling more confident that I can max it out again this year 💪

Payday shuffle has mostly been completed (a few DD / SO go out on the 1st) and we ordered the dining chairs which are arriving today. Yesterday was spent having a bit of reset of the downstairs in the house, taking the old chairs to the recycling centre where they will be sold on as an upcycling project and I finally managed to sort out one of the kitchen cupboards which had been causing me grief - you know, the one that you open, everything falls out and you just trow it all back in in a fit of rage each time rather than taking the 5 minutes to actually sort it out. So now all my "tupperware" boxes (old takeaway containers and IKEA boxes) and drinks bottles are actually organised, with their lids, ready to be used. Just need to educate DH on where they are now so he stops just leaving them on the side when he's washed them up. Also decluttered a couple of pairs of pyjamas that irritate me or are too big, and did some cable tidying / management around our internet hub where there are a million and one things also plugged in. So lots of little niggly jobs done but have freed up a lot of mental clutter for me.
Saturday I scored some free tickets to Wembley through work for the start of the Rugby League ashes. Seats were amazing, game was ok, and we also scored a 50% discount for lunch too so a very cost effective day out.
I'm only working today and then off the rest of the week. It's our 10 year wedding anniversary on Wednesday, and we have some family stuff going on as well so taking a few days to celebrate life and the fact we made it this far without too many arguments 😂Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20178 -
The start of November has pretty much passed me by as I was side lined by this cold / cough bug that's been going around our offices for the last few weeks. Did manage to do the family stuff last week and celebrate our anniversary before it kicked in though which was a positive; DH booked us a night in the same hotel we spent our wedding night and they upgraded us to their top suite and threw in some very nice champagne too!
So new month and time to reflect on where we are with the goals I set myself last month:- Buy new dining chairs: Done
- Organise the Kitchen & Utility Cupboards: I managed one cupboard, the one that was driving me insane the most so that's definitely some progress. Will aim to do at least one more this week
- Finish decorating the hallway / landing: While I was in bed this weekend, DH did the first coat of the final bits of painting and says he's going to finish it this weekend so looks like that will be done before Christmas (minus the new carpet etc...)
- Get the LISA to 75%: Currently at 45%, think this is actually doable with my November and December pay
- Get the Alaska fund to 20%: Currently at 18% so think we're definitely going to be able to hit that by the end of the year 🤞
- Have 15 NSD's a month: Completely failing at this, need to stop buying crap
