Very early morning all !
I have had about 3 hours sleep taxi coming at 4.15 so will have some tea to wake me up and then get dressed and pack the last bits chargers etc, we arrive at our beloved island at 5 this evening (all being well) so a long day travelling but so worth it.
Will be sitting on the harbour overlooking the sea having a lovely dinner with wine this evening 😃

Morning All
Have a great time Ruby, I expect you will be well on your way by now.
The weather here is truly awful, very windy and extremely wet, August has been a complete washout!
Work yesterday was good although I was very tired when I got home, took a while to catch up where I left off but got lots done. I had some toy shopping to do for the little ones at school so got that done on the way home.
Pleased to hear the little one is improving dp1, fingers crossed she'll be home soon.
Hugs to you Mehefin.
Hope you got home safely Gers, lucky you aren't travelling today, it wouldn't be pleasant.
My new little Granddaughter is still in hospital, she's very jaundiced and not feeding because of it, fingers crossed they get better news today.
Have a good day, take care. XX9 -
Morning folks. Have a good trip RUBY. By now you will be relaxing at the airport or even ready for boarding. Bon voyage.
It's dull here but at least not raining or blowing a gale! Though drizzle is expected this afternoon they say. All being well I am meeting my DF for lunch. Long overdue thanks to her bout of Covid which lasted forever and the mood of her unpredictable DH. At the moment he sounds to be in a better frame of mind though this can change whichever way the wind is blowing!
Not a lot got achieved yesterday. I intended to defrost the freezer (as well as other things) but there's always tomorrow!! Well it was a bank holiday, lol.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better, sad, lonely or fed up. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Ruby, hope you have a wonderful holiday..
Camelot, sorry to read that the baby is still in hospital, hope it won't be long before she's home.
Yesterday turned into a warm day, it's a bit grey this morning.
D s and dil didn't come over yesterday, he'd done a long run the day before and was still tired, we'll catch up eventually.
Going out this morning to take some stuff to the chazzer, and we will be going to the quiz tonight as usual.
Someone posted yesterday, sorry, can't remember who, to suggest chamomile tea for we non sleepers. For me, that can work, as can herbal tablets, but usually my problem is not actually falling asleep, but staying asleep. My eyelids spring open at 3 am and I find it difficult to sleep again. I start worrying about things and people. Thanks for the the thought though.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of Mehefin and anyone else who is sad or poorly.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning all,
For some reason I am feeling all droopy, absolutely no idea why so I am going to ignore it. It does seem dull in the sitting room at the moment, I am thinking of getting the SAD lamp out the garage ready for autumn etc., normally I don’t get it out this early.
Plans for today are to do a pantry inventory, fingers crossed there aren’t too many out of date items. Then this afternoon I want to go back out into the garden to complete the weeding of the flower beds with DH help.
Redruby, have a lovely holiday.
TA, I hope you manage to meet up with your DF
Camelot, hope your little grandaughter is able to come home soon.
dp1, hope your little one is able to come home soon too.
derek, thinking of you
Scarlet, I am the same, get to sleep fine, but then wake up countless times during the night. For me, it usually unsettling dreams that get me in a tizz.
Take care all. x

Hi everyone
Camelot - best wishes for the baby.
DP1 - hope that little one continues to improve.I’ve woken up very achey due to trying to do too much in the garden yesterday, however a hedge and the lawn look better for it despite having to re thread strimmer cable three times (that’ll teach me to buy cheap cable cassettes!).Today is hairdresser first thing (she comes to the house) then take DDad to physio - there’ll be some other jobs in and around that as well as dog walking. And having done the last summer craft fair thoughts now turn to Christmas so I have supplies out and also started drying apple slices for decorations - need to do some citrus too.Take care all

I'm with you Scarlet. I usually can get to sleep ok but staying asleep is the problem then the worries and woes descend to keep me awake x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

Morning all from a very cold and wet part of Scotland. Such a huge contrast from the days in Germany.I had a long 12 hour travelling day yesterday, it was mostly smooth apart from the final leg between Glasgow and here. The incoming long distance bus was delayed by an accident near the Rest which meant we all had to wait for the driver to have his statutory half hour rest. I felt sorry for the poor chap. Anyway, made it back by 5.30p.m. My car was parked between the bus stop and Chinese takeaway so it was a no-brainer, it once home I was far to tired to eat anything! Bed. Asleep. 😴
Today I will only unpack. I'm doing a volunteer stint at 4.00p.m. and will be home by six. I'll catch up on the news later today. Meanwhile, I hope that everyone is doing ok.PS in edit - the handover of the precious tablecloths went really well. All three GGgranddaughters were delighted and even thrilled to have a share. Importantly they will actually use them. Final job done for my beloved DMother.9 -
Morning all! A dull day so far. Today's going to be a noisy one, they're taking down the rest of the roof that was over the kitchen so I'd still have somewhere to cook. Slowly working my way through the list of things to do. Today is check the car over I think, tyres, adblue, screenwahs etc., may even get it washed. Or not...definitely hoover it out after. And do some packing later on when the cats have woken up [ am I the only one who doesn't want to disturb them when they're sleeping somewhere? Saw the neighbour over the road and he says he'll have some quince for me this year. I make a christmas cake for him every year so it's all quid pro quocamelot, hope she improves a bit today. dp1, same for your dgd, your daughter must be cream crackered. Scarlet, hope you can stay asleep tonight...Allie, for a second then, I read you were taking your father to a psychic
happy making! Ruby, have a wonderful holiday! Gers, I bet you're glad to not be travelling now...or do you like travelling? I must admit, driving on the motorway as the sun comes up always reminds me of holidays with my parents, we'd be up stupid early and the sun would just be rising as we got towards the ferry or the airport. mehefin, it's good you've got good enighbours, it's a tough time now when it all starts hitting you. Coxy, hope you're back safe and sound and didn't have to wade through any roads this time
SO, hope you don't feel like you're being singled out, stuff happens..are there any other groups you could join that do activites of whatever sort? There's a site called meet ups, there may be something in your area. One of the ones near me do a cinema evening where they just go to the cinema and have a meal or something. I've just discovered there's a ladies only group in my area on fb who do the same kind of thing, or they have crochet meets, knitting meets, sunday dinner meets, all very low key and non threatening..Take care all, hugs n stuff for thems that want them ...

Morning All
Camelot hope DGD improves soon x
DP1 glad to hear little one is improving x
Derek make sure you look after yourself and take time for you x
Gers glad you had a good break, rest up today x
Ruby have a fantastic holiday x
Hope all those not sleeping get a better night. I have to use ear plugs to combat DH snoring ( and now coughing and sniffling)
DH has been poorly all weekend, coughing sniffles and generally feeling yuck. DGC home today, we were going to have a bbq but have decided against it so they will go straight home.
Made a shepherds pie yesterday so will have that for dinner tonight, it's sunny here but blowy but will aim to get out for a bit.
Take care all, hugs to those who want them

Morning everyone I’ve just got in from a cleaning job and my washing is dry it was only thin tops but it’s very blowy here but dull it’s forcast rain later.Scarlet I’m another one in the wide awake club at 3 I have sometimes laid awake for a good couple of hours stupid conversations or just rubbish going through my head I’ve occasionally give in and just got up and I’ve foolishly thought well at least I will sleep tonight I don’t . Camelot I hope the little one can come home soon same as your little one DP1 all these poor worried mams they will be shattered. SO it happens in these groups sometimes you think you have told everyone something and you haven’t it’s like when it dawns on you when you think I haven’t seen such and such for a long time they won’t forget you again because you will be stuck in there head now GERS nice to hear you have had a good break and are home safe and sound TAFF I hope you don’t get any high winds before your roof is all safely back on . I’ve been on the market and got some veg I’ve got stewing steak and mince out of the freezer so I’m going to make a big pan of stew and some shepherds pie’s one will be for tonight and the others will go in the freezer it never seems to empty but I suppose it’s a bonus as the price of food is shocking I don’t know who it is keeps saying it’s coming down it isn’t I’m not buying any biscuits if they are not in I can’t eat them looking at the price of them today I’m think I’ve made the right decision. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7
