If you have a smart meter, are you sure that "your read" doesn't refer to either a manual or automated reading?Brie said:
Not necessarily as it was a smart meter that started this whole mess!!!Reed_Richards said:Get that smart meter and all your worries will be over.0 -
As did mine with Eon but being 1st gen these just don't connect with them.
They are neither my reading not an automatic smart reading given that the meter wasn't actually working at all at that point.bob2302 said:

I'm with outfoxthemarket and have smart meters. They still ask for readings each month. I had a gas one which was read remotely but not the electric. Not sure what their problem is as both meters worked fine with EDF previously.Reed_Richards said:Get that smart meter and all your worries will be over.

It can take some time for Outfox the Market to connect to older smart meters.VXman said:

We had to give manual readings for almost a year before they could connect to our existing smart meters.1 -

nothing been received previously (i.e. in 6 years we've been here) to say they are due to be replaced.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. 1st gen meters get 'adopted' into the comms network and then can work with all suppliers.
Some can't, and then should be replaced.2 -

You wouldn't be informed of being integrated.
Suppliers iirc had to identify those not able - and would not be in touch until have capacity to do so.
Not sure any hard dates set.
Unlike rts switch off - but those weren't that hard in the past - I.e. been extended.1
