HMRC debt at time of separation

Hi there, hope someone can help. I separated from my partner in April 2024. We have to give each other a full disclosure of our assets and liabilities and he claims his HMRC debt at time of separation should be included. As far as I'm aware, he is responsible for paying his own tax bill? He has since paid what is due but at time of separation he owed £10k plus. Surely this doesn't factor when calculating the matrimonial pot?
