Good morning, it's still dark but I can see that it's damp, yesterday wasn't a very nice day.
I've been awake since ridiculous o'clock - thought I'd get up so I didn't disturb dh with my tossing and turning.
We weren't out yesterday, we were going to go for a walk in the afternoon but it started to rain quite heavily, so we didn't go.
This morning I'll visit an elderly friend who lives nearby, and I think ds 2 and dil might be over this afternoon.
You are keeping busy Mehefin, it's good if you can, the time after a funeral can be the worst in a way, trying to adjust to a new set of circumstances.
Glad to see you're having a good time Gers.
Enjoy your holiday Redruby.
Welcome Redcross, nice to meet you.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you enjoy your visit and visitors.
Yesterday was a complete washout, it rained all day although did get a bit brighter for the evening, not enough to entice me outside though.
My visitors went home last night, I took them to the airport. They were out visiting yesterday afternoon so I got all the housework done and we had a lovely warming chicken casserole before they left. DS2 sorted out my new laptop for me before he left and took down a shelf unit and the kitchen blind - must chase up the decorator now.
You're doing well Mehefin, lots to keep you busy - how are the horses?
Safe travels home Gers.
Happy holidays Ruby.
Back to work (again) for me today, quite looking forward to it! Take care. XX12 -
Morning all
I was mia over the weekend as at a craft fair which was relatively successful and made some good contacts too. It’s tiring though.Today will be taken up with catching up on lots of other stuff. The lawn definitely needs mowing and some cutting down to do to fill up the garden waste bin for collection this week.Hope everyone can have a good bank holiday (I know not everyone gets one)
best wishes for all the poorlies

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I actually slept through last night after a long run of sleepless nights. I guess the lack of sleep finally caught up with me.
Yesterday we escaped with just a bit of drizzle mid afternoon but that pesky wind was back, making it feel quite chilly. I ended up watching The Sound of Music again for about the 50th time!! At the minute the sun is trying in vain to get out but not forecast to last. But it looks as though that dratted wind has dropped again thank goodness.
MEHEFIN I found that it's after the funeral that the loss hits you hardest but you have your beloved horses to see to and they must be a big comfort to you. RUBY I'm not sure when you depart on holiday but have a lovely time and GERS, on the other hand, will be flying home, so have a safe journey. I hope it's onwards and upwards for Dp1's DGD and they are both back home soon. ((HUGS)) for all in need of them, take care all and be safe xx

Morning allHappy holidays RubyKeep going Mehefin/Derek, you're doing greatGers hope your journey home goes smoothlyAll quiet here, DH has taken the big 'un out for his walk and I'll get up in a mo and feed the rest of the hoard. Strange but I seem to be sleeping in later while here at DSs. I'm sure I'll go back to 5.30am once home! Must clean out the bird cage later while DH is here as it's a 2 person job and I don't want them escaping!Have a good day all x13

Good morning everyone
Trying to keep to my resolution to post most days but I don't have much to contribute
It's fine but dull and cool but sometimes it feels cooler indoors than out so I will venture to the bin soon to test the situation. I've not got anything planned for today, so I will go with the flow.
I agree TA that it's after the funeral that things really hit you and sometimes you just have to let your feelings take over and let them out.
Enjoy your holiday Ruby and safe journey home Gers
Thoughts are with the sad and poorlies as usual
Take care x13 -
Morning all,it's raining here. Bracing myself to take pooch out!DB1 and SiL called yesterday morning, brought me a lovely bunch of roses, & we caught up on family news so had a good chatover a brew.In the afternoon DH & I went to the food Fest, quite busy but it was so chilly & still windy. DS1 said he'd pick us up if we bought cake
We got a box of different ones, and a Greek snack from one of the hot food stands. Met one of the lads DSons grew up with,DS2 is still friendly with him. He was with his family so we all had a good chat.We are going to go back again this afternoon as DB2 & co may go and we'll watch some of the music. Just hope it warms up a bit!
Derek, I can understand why you feel you need to have a bit of time to yourself now, but take care.Happy Greek travels RR! I'm envious.Glad the craft fair went well Allie.Have the best day you can, take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarlet
Congratulations Camelot
Gers safe journey
DP1 hope little one continues to improve and is home soon.
Mehefin, we all cope differently, you'll have so many emotions. Do what's right for you. Good to hear your DS is being such a good support.
I didn't realise it was a bank holiday, doesn't make any difference.
Seems a lot cooler and we did have a shower of rain yesterday so I didn't have to water the garden. So many tomatoes this year, not sure what to do them.
Don't think I'll see anyone so might have a walk later this morning.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Good morning from Mehefinland
Just popping to say hello, and thanks for all your sage advice. You are right, of course, if anything it's now that the situation hits hardest, when everyone has gone their separate ways and you are left to 'cope'. I'm so glad I have still got the horses to keep me grounded, although they have been acting strangely this last week or so. It's as if they 'know' or can sense the changes. It's very odd. Showman, who used to be a s o d to catch in the field is as meek s a lamb. Scooby just wants her itches soothed, and almost says 'it's by here Dad' as I apply the Sudocrem. She stretches out her neck and almost gets a soppy look on her face. It is quite comical in a way.
Its the usual Bank Holiday weather by the looks of things, so can't see me doing a great deal outdoors, although it's recycling day tomorrow complete with the green waste. If it stays dry long enough will cut the grass and tidy up the garden a little - it certainly needs it. Almost seems as if we have gone straight into autumn/winter. All the colour has been ripped out by the strong winds and rain. So chilly last night I even resorted to the heating for 30 minutes!!! In August!!
Take care all, enjoy the Bank Hol if you can( is there one in Scotland - I know things are different up there?)
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning
Bright and sunny here, but chilly. The forecast is to get cloudy later.
Didn't make the crumble yesterday, instead spent time chatting with my friend and recalling good times with her parents, so the time wasn't wasted. We both felt better for it.
So, the plan today is to make apple and blackberry crumble, and will probably do a roast while the ovens on, had quiche sand salad yesterday.
Have a good day everyone.
Love to all x12 -
Morning all from another very hot day in Frankfurt. We left early this morning for the long drive to the airport after having a lovely family meal together. We said goodbye to the local ones last night. My Berlin cousin collected his daughter (home is now London), my nephew and me and dropped us at T2. My nephew and I then went on the Skyline automatic train to T1. I'm nice and cool in the Senator Lounge whilst he is somewhere else in the airport. My flight leaves about 10 minutes before his.I've had a better than i expected time here which makes me glad I made the effort. And it is an effort! 😀 I'll land by 12.30, bus from airport to Glasgow then another bus at 2.p.m. Home by 5p.m. with maybe a cheeky Chinese takeaway on board.
I'll catch up soon. Hope that everyone has a good dry day.11
