First Time Buyer Seeks Advice
I have now received my completion date. I have about 2 weeks until I finally own a house.
What's my next step? Best way to sort house Insurance? How soon do I start looking at gas electric providers etc? Even Wi-Fi. What's the best way to source the best deal?

When did you/are exchanging? I was advised to take house insurance out from that point.
Do you know who your utility providers are?First thing you will need to do when you’re moving it to is take a photo of the meters and record the readings.
Is there a water meter, because if so you will need to track that down as well.
The main MSE site will show the latest deals on broadband, gas and electric et cetera. Other comparison sites are available. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If you need a removals service, start contacting them now, because they get booked well in advance and you might find availability difficult.1

What's the best way to source the best deal? You're supposed to have insurance in place from the day you exchange contracts. Until exchange of contracts I would not go setting up any utility accounts because until then all bets are off. The MSE website has sections for Household Bills and Insurance, that would seem like a good starting place to get the best deals.I'm not sure where you're moving from and how much stuff you already have but I'd either start decluttering what I already have or if I have nothing at all I would start getting the basics such as bedding, cutlery and a kettle.0 -
Plan to change the locks.

When you move in, you will be on a deemed contract for gas / electricity with the existing supplier to the premises. As others have said, take photos of the meter reads for each, and you can then research which companies you might want to stay with / move to.
The water / sewerage will be a fixed water firm - you don't get to choose these.
Wi-fi is likely to be disconnected - if you have a contract where you live at present, contact them once you have exchanged and have a move in day, and discuss moving the contract to your new property.
Good luck!0
