My aurora power one inverter has developed a E031 fault, it's 10 years old, can anyone recommend a company in Lancashire to replace the inverter?

Try reading this companies info on faults and advice they give, based in Preston.

or could do this ABB Aurora inverter fault code E031 fix / repair - YouTube3 -
I had good (word of mouth) reports for both companies.Pity you has Aurora in the first place -don't have a good reputation from what I have read.Do consider future proofing rather than straight replacement in case you wish to expand or add batteries in the future. Might be a good cost saving in the long run.0

Yes, I'd replace it with a hybrid inverter, to allow for batteries to be added.0

E031 is the standard fault for that inverter.
It tends to start with dry solder joints and then it burns the track around itself and sometimes kills the relay.
If you are OK with a soldering iron, and are fairly handy you can sort it yourself for about £5
Edit, the relays have went up in price since I repaired my 2, they are £6.50 now

You could still have the inverter in the loft but the batteries would have to go elsewhere to comply with the new guidance. Probably easier to re-site the inverter, in that case, as you need very heavy cabling to the batteries.2

PAS 63100:2024 says you shouldn't have batteries in the loft. But it isn't law, and it's not a British Standard. Many people do aready have batteries in their lofts.Getting 10 years out of an Aurora inverter is pretty good going. Mine lasted 6. It came with a 5½ year warranty. I can't help thinking that the manufacturer knew they were going to fail.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
But it isn't law, and it's not a British Standard.
But just make sure your insurer will pay out if you go against the guidance.
