Attendance applications 2024

Options
I’ve recently used the guide on here to help my relative apply for attendance allowance - thank you. We are now waiting for a decision.

I was just wondering how long the decisions are currently taking. Does anyone have any experience of recent applications?

I will keep this forum updated of the decision when it comes through.

  • My OH applied earlier this year and it took him 3 weeks to get his. He got the payment in bank before he got his letter saying he had been awarded it.

Posted application for my mom on 29.1.24.
Got text on 2.2.24 saying would be up to 12 weeks for decision.
Decision made on 12.2.24 to award AA, so that's just over two weeks!

It took 10 weeks but that was over a year ago.  It sounds as if it’s getting much faster  :)

I help a lot of people with AA applications. Recently most have been awarded within 7-8 weeks but I have had one awarded within 2 weeks ( not special rules).
  • Thanks all. We sent application 3 weeks ago an received confirmation of receipt a few days later. Will update as soon as we hear anything.

That’s pretty normal for all benefits.  I got my letter for last years £10 Christmas  bonus in the middle of January  :D
  • I applied 19aug online with new tick box application and got a payment in my bank on 9sept still waiting for letter

    Hello.

Can I ask did you apply thinking you might get full rate or the day rate, or did you tick boxes hoping for either.?

I applied thinking I might get the day rate, but upon reading some of the questions thought even the full rate might apply. It has been four weeks now, since applying online.

Do you help with any online applications. I applied four weeks ago and haven`t heard anything yet.
