I needed 2 flat roofs and 2 valleys fixed, went with recommended after checking them out, long story short ended up whole roof replaced I asked if I needed building regs, they would sort and started the following week-they found various problems, so money added to bill- I stupidly paid in instalments, 2 days after they finished bits fell off so had a friend round who pointed out more than a few wrongs in the roof replacement, so called them back they put the bits back on and looked where we said we were not happy with the work, they said they will arrange to come back, but it took 4 attempts to get them to put bits back on and were not pleased that we were not happy with their work. It has since rained and there is puddling on one of my flat roofs, I can't access the other as too high, really worried I have been scammed as now paid in full.
Also annoyed with myself for letting them loose on my roof.
Just discovered, one of the roofers was sent to jail for fleecing 16K out of pensioners in Oxfordshire for a bad roofing job, courtesy of the Banbury Guardian paper.
i would like to name and shame, but I'm not sure, I'm allowed to!

It's not clear if you have a question, or if you are just venting your frustrations.

If you want advice, my advice would be to find a better roofing company and ask them to inspect the work and write an expert report on the quality, but if you have home insurance, you should first check to see if you have Legal Expenses cover. If you do, call the Legal Helpline provided by your insurer for advice on what you can do to get the roofs checked, and fixed if necessary.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

IT'S BOTH, but would like to stop them repeating the scam
Frustration doesn't quite cover my feelings, I have already had an inspection who couldn't find much right with it!
It looks like I have to start again, which is difficult moneywise, I know who to start with to try and stop them from doing the same thing to others but am fairly sure I'm not getting any refunds!
Not sure if citizens advice followed by trading standards would catch them in time and 5 months for a terrible roofing job is not enough in my opinion
