Morrison’s Home Delivery Substitutions
Comments

I don't have deliveries from Morrisons now. Their subs policy seems to be that if a sub comes from the same manufacturer as the original product, it doesn't count as a sub. A tin of baked beans and a tin of spaghetti hoops are not the same.1

I've been using Morrison online shopping for a few months now since having an accident and being house bound.
I've noticed recently a lot of substitutions last week about half of my weekly shop was substituted, its not really an issue apart from the subs are always for more expensive products and i can make the decision to keep or send back however last weeks shopping was a real eye opener.
I had 24 products substituted but they were all replaced with products that had multi buy offers (£2 each or 3 for £5 and £1.45 each or 2 for £2.50) this was clearly shown when i viewed the order prior to the delivery both the price the items are at full price and the associated offers. I made sure to ask the delivery driver if i would be paying the full price for each item or if i would receive the multi buy discounts, he told me i would get the discount, fine i will accept the substitutions.
This is NOT the case i was expecting £6.80 in multi buy savings which i did not get i had to phone up the help desk and they agreed i had been over charged, this was by mistake and it is not normal practice but a computer error.
I have now had another delivery and the same thing has happened 21 subs some on multi buy offers yet charged full price not given savings. I've also been back through some recent receipts and the same thing has been happening for a few months just only on 1 or 2 items so have not noticed.
Surely this cant be right, if a supermarket subs products tells you they are on offer but because its a sub they do not intend to honor the lower price by passing the savings on to you. im sure someone else has mentioned and id appreciate if there is a link to prior threads i just no longer trust Morrison anymore.3 -
Morrisons don’t honour substitute prices, never have done. You choose to accept the updated cost and subs or return to the driver. Or you can tick for no subs. I find Morrisons the most expensive and unreliable in terms of subs out of all of the supermarkets.

Its not the prices i have a problem with i get i can accept or decline, its when the products they send you instead are 3 for £5 or £2 each so they charge you £6. It should be £5 and if its not it should be clearly indicated you will not get the offer.0

for example i ordered 10 punnets of savers grapes @ £1.59 each no multi buy offer here, they are substituted for grapes that are £2 each or 3 for £5
It clearly tells me they are on offer and does not tell me im not getting the offer anywhere they just charge me £20. Same thing on other items, moving supermarkets just lets Morrisons get away with it not to mention im on benefits i cant just let supermarkets rip me off every week im sure if anyone would question it if they are going through the tills in store.

Not the day you ordered or the day after your delivery but actually on the delivery day? Also as odd as it sounds, if it’s 3 for £5 and you get 10 then the offer may not kick in, I’ve been told that before if they scan 10 it can/may override the offer as it’s not divisible by 3 🤦♀️I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. No its a permanent offer they are always on an offer and have been since ive been using Morrisons since march also i purchased some red grapes of which 6 were sub with the same 3 for £5 but i paid £2 each. Also the week before the same problem with bread sub'ed for 2 for £2.50 bread did not get the offer. I have brought those grapes before more than 0 and the discount is counted for no problem. Its also worth bearing in mind that i contacted Morrisons last week to complain and was told this was not normal, when you are given subs that are on a multi buy offer i would in the future get the saving.0
