I do like how Octopus push the boundries and offer all these incentives. Can't see BG or such like doing similar.

As far as I've noticed, nobody has ever said "we hate Octopus because they make profit". They don't make much more profit on retail than anyone else does, just manage to make a decent chunk through licencing of software as well. All good, that's what companies are there for.
We've just pointed out that saying "aren't Octopus so lovely, running at a loss just so they can be nice to me" is a little 'odd', particularly without anything to back it up beyond a PR tweet.
Anything they can do to get people used to flexibility in usage is great as far as I'm concerned, but they aren't doing it because of unicorns and rainbows.Netexporter said:powerful_Rogue said:MP1995 said:That is nice of them.

Now they trust a Pink Octopus.
I must admit the funny extras are welcome as well, the free coffee each week, we got a sausage roll on the snaps thing me bob. The dog is always given a free puppachino as well in Nero.
And it does make me chuckle that the smart meter naysayers get none of that.3 -

As we are both aware, financial statements don't break down profit margin by specific customer, tariff or day
And of course other suppliers also made a loss, so suggesting that it was a choice on behalf of Octopus so they could have a special tariff for special people seems a little silly.
Octopus do some great innovations, but they are a business after all. The starry eyed fan thing is a little odd to me. I think the same thing about the Musk super fans.0 -

No recognition for what Octopus did to majorly shake up the market in a very unique way, a costly one at the start(as per their books) but now reaping the rewards.
Super fan, maybe in some areas, not for how they are designing heat pumps. But a fan none the less as we have conservatively saved over £4000 from being with Octopus over the years.
I wish everyone could have saved what we did, and more over the years.0 -

If for any reason we can’t get your readings from Monday, we’ll credit you the average across your fellow Intelligent drivers.Another nice little treat from Octopus!
Now all I need to do is figure out to just get car to charge 23:30 to 05:30 instead of starting as soon as plugged in which is the norm for me on IO 🤷♀️1st world problems 🤣Life in the slow lane0
