EDF EV Tariff Gas Prices?

I'm currently with EDF and our fixed rate tariff for electric and gas ends soon and I want to get a new tariff before the October increase. I also want to switch to an EV tariff, but the EV tariff doesn't mention anything about the gas prices???

Do I get a new duel fuel tariff first then get an EV tariff?

Just called EDF and after lengthy wait, the rep told me to follow the quote for EV tariff and at the end it tells you gas prices. Tried that and at the end of the quote it just asks you to sign up for EV tariff so he was talking bs just to get me off the phone.

I'm concluding that most people just see a cheap EV night unit price and sign up, and day units and gas prices are "whatever"they are, and companies are exploiting that by not offering any other information on ev tariff

You will need to get separate contracts for gas and electric. AFAIK no one does dual fuel combined with an EV tariff. I don't think dual fuel deals have been the most cost effective solution for a long time now, I split mine quite a while before I had an EV.

Thanks. As far as process is concerned, did you just switch to EV tariff and THEN find out the gas prices? Companies do seem to be relying on this by not providing any information outside the EV night units.

No I switch out gas tariff first to a gas only supplier (Zog) who went down with the energy crisis. I later switched to Octopus when I got an EV.

Once you current contract is up I would look at the best option for both which maybe a different company for each. If you have a compatable car or charge point Intelligent Octopus Go is hard to beat (2p pkWh cheaper than EDF)

You can choose which tariff for gas, options are SVT, Tracker or any fixes they are offering at the moment. Find their tariff pages on the website, don't click get a quote but put in your postcode. You can narrow down the options, domestic is enough.

Fixes show the price for gas OR electricity, you can have either or both at those prices.

Is why I'm so confused. I'll have to call Octopus and hope for a straight answer
