Direct Collection Bailiffs LTD letter for private car park fine in Scotland advice needed

Hi
I had correspondence with someone from Britannia Parking Group Ltd to lobby my case as to the unjust fine imposed against me.
I was in my work vehicle and stayed for 43 minutes in a car park controlled by them without realising they even had magic eye cameras there.
I tried to reason with the person via email that I couldn't afford the payment and that I'd easily pay the £1 via app for the time applicable. Both were refused. I was offered a payment plan of £15 x 4 months and that was it. I again reiterated this was unreasonable and tried to find a solution.
I was then told I was unwilling to pay my fine and the next steps would commence.
I have since received 3 letters from DCBL with the last one arriving today staying they'd advise their client to proceed with legal action or pay the now £170 levied against me.
Advice needed please and thank you

What “fine”?
Presumably, you admitted to being the driver. Pity you didn’t discover this forum before you appealed. There is no keeper liability in Scotland but that is irrelevant if you’ve blabbed the drivers identity.
The saving grace is jurisdiction. No PPC will make a claim under the Simple Procedure in Scotland for a piddling (relatively) small amount as they are unable to recover their costs.
Are you a Scottish resident? If so, simply stop communicating with the PPC. They are hoping that you are low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree and will simply pay up out of ignorance. If you ever receive a Letter of Claim, come back and let us know so we can have a laugh at the intellectual malnourishment of the PPC.

If it was my own vehicle, I wouldn't have engaged with BPG Ltd at all but for the fear of them harassing my company and me getting in bother with them.
I haven't engaged with BPG in months since their final email and have been lurking on this forum a while and read not to engage with DCB at all, which I've followed.
The incident in question happened in February0 -
And yes, I'm a Scottish resident to answer your question0

Tell the vehicle keeper to transfer liability to you as the keeper on the day of the event. They can do that any time and it will be explained on the NtK how they can do that. That gets them off the hook and you can deal with it by telling them to go poke themselves in the arm with a sharp stick and either cancel or take you to court (they won’t as it would cost them more than they could recover).

Things will change in 2025 with a proper appeals service for new PCNs. Does NOT affect yours which you must COMPLETELY ignore but do learn about the plain stupid decision your previous leader made.
Search the forum for:

As I say, after the initial engagement I've ignored everything since. I'll continue to do so.
Thanks2 -
