I am thinking of getting a holiday place in France but struggling to get my head around the 90 day rule?? Is it one lot of 90 days for the whole year?? Hope someone can help explain plainly, thank you

You can spend up to 90days in a 180 day period. So if you stayed for 90 continuous days, you'd then need to leave and not return for at least another 90days at the end of your trip.

In a year you could do two lots of 90days, as long as there is a 90+ day break in between

90 days in and 90 days out aren't your only options though, you could do 30 days in, 30 days out, or any other combination that keeps you inline with the 90 days in any rolling 180 day period.  Good ol' Brexit.......
