in Credit cards
Basically I’m an idiot (and obviously clueless about credit cards, only first got one this year) and didn’t realise you can’t use a 0% balance transfer card to transfer the balance of a credit card you have with the same bank. So it’s no good to me! The only reason I even applied for one is that my mortgage broker advised it (we’re hoping to apply for a small mortgage in a few months) so I’m not paying interest on it until I can clear it fully.
I’m still within the 14 days to cancel it, should I do that? What will look worse to lenders? To get and immediately cancel a credit card, or keep it open and do nothing else with it? I’m assuming the damage is done in the sense that a hard search has already been done and won’t go away if I cancel the card so would it be best to keep it? Any help appreciated!

Unless it's a fee incurring card the "14 days" is irrelevant and it can be cancelled at any time.0
