Boiler Insurance v Boiler Guarantee/??

Hi all,
Thought I would post here for a little advice.
We have just recently had our (very) old boiler replaced with a new one - literally on Monday.
When the chap installed it he said register it and you get the manufacturers guarantee free provided you do it within 30 days of installation.
I have done this - but my possibly very stupid question is, would it still be advisable to take out boiler cover/insurance as well? Or would that be overdoing it?
I know sometimes these things are dependant on what you already have covered with other policies ie: home insurance etc.
thanks for any advice. x

You need to check the manufacturer warranty terms
It normally states annual servicing is a requirement, possibly with further conditions
Boiler cover not required as it should then be a manufacturer repair under warrantyEx forum ambassador

The manufacturer's warranty will usually just cover the cost of parts, and the cost of diagnosis and fitting of any failed parts will be down to the owner of the boiler, so boiler cover could still be a useful thing. However, you are unlikely to get a discount to reflect that the insurer proably won't need to provide spare parts, so I would save the cost of boiler cover to a seperate savings account so that if the boiler does go wrong and you need to pay for diagnostics or a repair, you have the money readily available. You will save a lot of money doing this compared to taking out boiler cover. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

The guarantee will only cover the boiler. You need to look at boiler insurance to see what else it covers- emergency call out, pipes, radiators or whatever.
I've personally never bothered with it.0
