My friend borrowed my car, had an accident and now it’s being written off.

Thanks. This is what I am hoping for. I don’t even mind if the color matches, just need them to be working and safe. I believe the two passenger car doors were open when the other car reserved into it, I don’t know if this will make a difference on the likelihood of structural damage. I have included photo. I am hoping to buy the car back from the insurance after they make a settlement. I have never done this before, how much are they likely to charge me? I am hoping to have something left over for repairs. I did this when my dad gouged both his doors on a bollard. Paint match was perfect suprisingly. As above, a lot depends on whether there is damage to the B pillar. Could you post photos?
in the trade so hoping to use them to replace the doors providing no structural damage. I phoned my insurance today and I have two weeks to get a new mot but I can drive it in the mean time. Thanks to everybody who have contributed on this thread so far. It’s been super stressful so appreciate all the advice I can get. 0 -
Shut lines are all over the place.
Rear door has shifted forwards and up at the back which is why it's catching on the front door and making a noise. If you are lucky the hinge has shifted and it might be possible to adjust it backwards and fit a new door. It's also possible the bracket on the door has bent. You need to work out if it's one of these two easily fixable issues before fitting a second hand door. If it's neither of these the b post is damaged and the cars toast.1 -
Well fingers crossed. Will update after I’ve been to garage.0

They should charge you what their salvage agent would have paid them for it... normally its a flat agreement of 20-25% of the total loss value (pre-excess)TT89 said:

We took out fully comprehensive temporary insurance on both cars.
Did your friend take out the temporary comprehensive insurance on your car?
In that case it is her that should be claiming on her insurance, not you on your insurance
OR
Did you cover her as a named driver on your car for the holiday period?0
