Back. I'm still lying in bed for a wee while longer. I have a very unhappy digestion so am drinking tons of water and will avoid breakfast. I'll get ready soon and head off to the airport. I'm hoping to get away before Storm Lilian arrives. The journey down to Glasgow was very smooth and relaxing. The coach was full so only pre-booked passengers were getting picked up. I enjoyed seeing over the hedges and fences next to the road, some lovely houses and cottages there.@Floss - what a dreadful thing to happen, so unexpected and random too.@DP1 - that's such lovely news. I hope that your little one and your DD (and you too) can rest a little easier now.@Mehefin - I'm sure that the lovely service you curated went beautifully, especially because of all the love you poured into it. Take some time to recover now and be assured that you did well for your beloved Dawn. The he'll that is Frankfurt airport here I come!13

Thanks Gers, happy travels
DP1, I hope little one can start to feel better very soon
Mehefin - take care, you’ll be emotionally drained
The garden looks like a storm blew through with leaves and debris everywhere, it’s calmed a little now.Popping to out local village for coffee as DDad hasn’t been out for a few days. His urology results were ok, they’ll just test his PSA every three months - again excellent speedy NHS, only 20 days since he saw the GP and has had blood results, urology consultation, MRI and results.
Other than that I have a craft fair both days this weekend - I’m remarkably organised so just need to make lunch and snacks and pack the van.Take care all

Good morning, it's wet and windy here.
Mehefin, hope all went as well as it could yesterday.
Safe travels Gers.
Glad the little one has had her ok Dp1, Hope there are no more set backs and she starts to make a good recovery.
Floss, that was a terrible thing about that poor man, what a shock for his fsmily.
Welcome Real thing16, nice to meet you. Keep posting!
Not much going on today, we'll see how the weather turns out. We got a text from Northern Electric yesterday to say there may be power cuts today because of the weather.
Thinking of Mehefin and anyone else who is sad or poorly.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS and safe travels too. We are currently in the midst of Storm Lilian here, although the rain seems to have eased off. Sadly the wind is still battering us and once it moves on I shall have to go out and stand a few blown over pots upright. It's supposed to die down by lunchtime.
I was awake even more stupidly early this morning for some reason. It was before Lilian arrived so I can't blame that. Once awake I was dwelling on stuff I can't change as usual. I have already made a start on the Friday Tidy as the 2 youngest DGDs have invited themselves for lunch. I think it may just have to be pizzas. It seems ages since I saw them as they have been away at the caravan.
Oh well there is a duster and vac awaiting me so I had better get moving. I hope yesterday went as well as it could do DEREK, we were all thinking of you. Dp1 we were all thinking of you too and I hope DGD now makes a speedy recovery. ((HUGS)) for everyone else in need, take care all and be safe xx

Morning all
Wet and stormy here but the sun is trying to peep out so hopefully we will get some later.
I have a very busy day today I have electrolysis this morning although I can’t feel any hairs at all so we may have got on top of it at last, I then have my nails then I go over to the next town and have my waxing done, not looking forward too the waxing but needs must, I then come home for an hour or so and then off to collect dd from Gatwick at 5.30 I shall be shattered after all that, we are ordering a takeaway ad we won’t be in much before 7.
I have put a wash on this morning and I have another few bits to wash later just the last bits before we go away, OH needs to do his ironing and then he can start to pack.
Mehefin I hope yesterday went as well as it could you will probably be shattered today both physically and emotionally so take care of yourself xxx
DP1 so glad that little one had her op let’s hope this is the start of better things for her xxx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning from Mehefinland
Well it was a bit of wild and windy night and we seem to have sprung a leak in the kitchen ceiling. I expect a tile has moved, but that is a job for another day. I can put up with a little bit of water, been producing enough of my own these last few weeks.
The celebration of Dawn's life passed remarkably well. I was knocked sideways by the number of people who attended, they were even standing at the back of the crematorium, and many I did not know. A lot of ex colleagues, neighbours, friends, and just people who knew her , or me. I said my bit, we had our music ( I could see foot tapping in the corner of my eye), and people went away with a sunflower in remembrance of her. All in all not as bad an experience as I undoubtedly feared beforehand.
DS and the not so toxic Troll were brilliant. We had a long heart to heart about lots of things. Although Dawn resisted it, I have given them my blessing, for what its worth, if they want to go ahead and marry. They say they can't afford to, but I argue that they don't need the big wedding etc if they are that much committed. They can always reaffirm their vows at a later time when they are more financially settled.
I know that the next phase in my life is going to be tough, and I DO appreciate the support I have had, and no doubt will get from you lovely people whom I like to think of now as my virtual family.
Hugs and spoons as always. Glad to hear little DP is getting better.
As the late Dave Allen used to say : " May your God go with you"

Good Morning folks, excuse me while I find my feet here. Going to my singing group this morning then waiting for somebody to service the boiler. Tedious and an expense, but better than freezing or having no hot water!
