Hi
i have been on o2 for many years and find network coverage far superior to previous providers like 3/virgin etc. however my current deal of 30gb data sim only has gone up to £19pm. There are alternativew online for 40/50gb for 7£ pm, so doesnt make sense to stay on o2. In fact they have a new customer offer for £8 40gb
today they best they could offer for 30gb £14 so i got my pac code which is valid for 30 days. Wondering if they have a retentions team that will call u with better deals in the coming days, or should i just switch to a new provider tonight?

You could use the PAC to shift the number to a PAYG then get a new, much better, deal from o2 and move back to them.Better than PAYG actually would be one of the MSE recommended monthly deals.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Thanks will try that especially if coverage on new network is bad.But does o2 generally call u a few days after getting a pac?0

I can see that deal on USwitch - https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/
Have you tried choosing that deal, and seeing if you can apply it to your existing account/sim ?
I was able to do that recently when my price rose due to the April RPI+3.9% rise.
When I bought the sim only deal via uSwitch, it asked if I was an existing O2 customer, and when I said yes, once I logged in to my O2 account, it let me apply the deal to my existing account.3 -

I'm currently paying for three "rolling monthly" SIM-only O2 contracts (self, wife, granddaughter) but granddaughter keeps running out of data (it's the homework, honest !).
So I was tempted by O2's 100 or 175GB offer. Identical offer on both MSE and USWITCH. But in both cases the O2 login after choosing "existing customer" failed. So I called O2 retentions. Spectacularly unhelpful. Unable to offer same deal, just those on O2 website (not nearly as appealing).
Good news is that I've got a cheapo ASDA SIM in my dual-SIM phone at the moment, seems to confirm that Vodafone coverage is now comparable to O2 in our rural area (five years ago it wasn't). So it looks like O2 will lose three customers to Lebara. And we'll get more data and still save a few quid.
So I'm happy, just a bit surprised that O2 were so very unreceptive to haggling.
Like the OP, if it all goes pear-shaped we can easily move back to O2 (as new customers) as Lebara deals are "rolling monthly".

I tried O2 myself via chat and again, totally uninterested so now on Lebara, just hoping the number port goes well tomorrow.0
