Trying to set up sons new ipjone upgrade, thought it be very simple and just put them side to side and transfer oh no no
He had an iPad years ago and an iCloud ID to set it up. Can’t remember the password. Tried the forget password and it’s being looked at with Apple support now because we tried too many options. It keeps asking for his iPad pin to unlock it. He hasn’t used it for nearly 2 years have a clue!

I don’t want to use that iCloud account tho - when we had his phone a few years back we set up an Apple ID with an outlook email. Every time I try and restore an app it’s asking for the iCloud email. I cannot see anywhere on the phone where it’s stored tho to change it!
When I go to settings click on his name it’s outlook email but keeps coming up with enter password for the iCloud account.

If your son isn't technical enough to use computer equipment, perhaps a simple Nokia-style phone would be more suitable, rather than iPhone/iPad3

That’s not particularly helpful for an iPhone that’s already been bought though, is it?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Probably best to fully reset the new phone and start as a fresh install, unless the forgotten iCloud accounts had anything you want such as documents or pictures. This time take a note of the password.1

Not 100% sure but i think
When you set up an Apple device with and email address whether iCloud or any other email address its’s still called your iCloud account
So when he set the iphone up with outlook email he would have to set up a password too and thats the one for the icloud account
I can’t see why you cant do iphone to iphone I have done it may times for friends and family, obviously both phones must be to the same Apple ID \0 -

Agreed, iPhone to iPhone is trivially easy. You just place the two phones next to each other and follow the instructions. You just need to know your PIN/Passcode for the old phone (the one you enter when you turn the phone on or from standby)
