I looking for a divx dvd player with VCR

    Not the cheapest option ( you can get cheaper if you don't need a DVD recorder ), but I got a Samsung DVD-VR355 in August so that I didn't have to get rid of my video collection and could also watch DivX movies as well as being able to record to DVD. Even has a HDMI output socket. ( Doesn't play HD or Blue-Ray though )

    So far, it has played everything that I have thrown at it - including Dual Layers disks. One thing I have found is that the DVD side of things gets hot - the disks are very warm when they come out of the machine - so you need good quality RW's if you want to record ( Verbatum, etc ).

    It is Region 2 - but have seen a hack to convert it to Multi-Region but no need for me to try that yet so don't know if it would work.

    Other than that - I'm very happy with it.

    If you want cheap, you can get a Philips DVP3350V for 63 pounds delivered.

    PHILIPS DVP3100V too, at the same price.

    Dunno if they are any good though. :)
