Advice Req: John Lewis Price-Match

Looks to me suspiciously like this is how they work. Provide things slightly different to what other places supply and you'll never have to do a full price match.
I guess the main gripe here is the SA's assurance that it wouldn't affect the money back at point of purchase which was wrong, although they may well have said what they said in good faith.0 -
Just on the subject of price matches in general, there is an advert running on midlands TV for some car sales place (bit like Yes car but probably with a few more morals). The ad states if you find a similar car cheaper they will refund you.
OH and I were discussing how on earth is this possible? the get out clauses must be endless! It didnt state it even have to be the same make and model car, just a similar spec.
Thats why I detest companies that advertise price matches because it usually means you can get it cheaper elsewhere!0 -

Like I mentioned earlier even if you do follow their rules and clauses to the letter they can still simply point blank refuse you and they'll simply start making up reasons. And if you try and point that out they'll simply say the case is closed as it has already been considered and will refuse to even talk to you."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I think JL are being more than fair, and have agreed to price match the TV like for like, even though you're comparing it to something that's not like for like, so you either pay for the DVD cinema system (it was free WITH the TV, not just free btw...), or return it.
It's quite obvious really.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
