You can now claim online if you go on .gov website they only let so many claim its very easy it’s just tick boxes took me less than 10 minutes. It’s a new way of claiming they only let so many use it the best time to do it on a Monday morning they don’t ask you to download any medical information it’s so simple
Yes, but Martin Lewis says that if you do, you won't get it backdated.

Also if it's just tick boxes, I don't understand how people can adequately explain their needs. Not all difficulties can be explained by ticking a box ? A conventional AA form normally takes me about an hour to fill in with the applicant thoroughly going over all difficulties, adding extra relevant information. I  wouldn't be happy with a ten minute tick box form ! Perhaps this is DWP's way of awarding it to less people ?

I agree.  There’s a lot of information that can’t be given by tick boxes.  For example a list of medication.  I have 8 different meds and I had to squash the information into a very small box.

I’d like to think it’s the DWPs way of getting the applicants through the system much faster.  Oh well, we can live in hope

I read on another website about a man who applied for his mother and she was awarded high rate and was paid in less than 2 weeks. And no she didn’t have a terminal illness. There’s also quite a few more who have been successful using the same online form. I think it’s just a way of speeding up applications as I said in my previous post that they only allow so many applications and it’s usually on a Monday morning.

Backdating to a time before the claim date would only ever occur if applying under special rules where a terminal diagnosis has been made by a qualified professional and the relevent form completed. The application is then fast tracked and the highest rate awarded.

Yes, best sucesses with fully explaining all the difficulties experienced and any help required, giving examples and where there is a box to further explain the difficulties, definitely use that box and use separate sheet of paper as well as those boxes are small. Studies show that people who get assistance from an experienced adviser have better chance of a successful claim. Advisors can ask probing questions as most people will say they manage but when you ask them to explain how they get dressed for instance, it takes them a long time, they have all these manouvers they have to do, might be in pain or breathless doing so and need to rest afterwards. People reading the forms only have the form to go by so they need to be told the exact picture.
