Under £5000
Small as possible
Euro 4+ for petrol
Euro 6+ for diesel
Parking sensors, and ideal revering camera
Those are my requirements. I was almost sold on honda FRV because its a 3 & 3 seating configuration and form what Ive read it drives like a small car. What didn't work out for me was the 3rd isofix is rugt next to the drivers seat and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be for the driver on long journeys withyour shoulder rubbing up against a child car seat. Any owners want to chime in? Also the issue was the car was not made after 2008 which makes it quite old and due to tbe limited supply and unique offering the prices for good ones are quite high.
Like almost £5K on autotrader with exec models with leather seats with service history.
I did also consider prius plus. But hybrids have 5 grand premium for some reason. A ford c max or a touran might be £5K but the same age prius plus is £10K. The family car will probably only do 4k miles a year.
Wife will most likely be driving it and will do short trips and I normally take her car every few weeks to do my occasionally motorway driving to clean out the build up. We dont need a diesel, but I know some cars diesels are much stronger and reliable engines. So Im open to ideas.
At the moment Ive narrowed down to a vw touran because it apparantly drives nicer than other people carriers and has 5 isofix seats which makes it very versatile. As a child could be on the 3rd row leaving room for parent to sit at the middle seat and deal with kids.
