Travel Insurance while on a trip

This is a really embarrassing post.
I am a week into a three week trip to Vietnam. I have Revolut Premier and was using this for travel insurance. So had a problem with flight delays and assumed I was not covered, but thought I would check. To my horror, I found out T&C’s changed in June and I have no Travel Insurance whatsoever.
I acknowledge I have secured ‘Idiot of the Year’ award.
Can I still get Travel Insurance for medical cover for the two weeks I have left. I have no medical issues history at all. 60 years old.
BTW My Wife, who has medical history, she spoke extensively to her insurer to make sure she was covered fully. Mine was easy so didn’t bother 🙄

For speed's sake, any chance you can be added to your wife's policy?1

Standard travel insurance requires you to buy it before you travel, else people would have an accident etc, then buy the insurance and claim the accident happened the following day etc.
You may be able to add you to your wife's policy but make sure you are very clear that you are already travelling and want it to cover this current trip... lax wording may have you added but not effective until your next trip (assuming its annual cover).
There are some specialist insurers that will sell cover to those already overseas but double check who the insurer is/where they are based. Most the ones I've seen dont have a UK insurer backing them which would mean no right of complaint to the Financial Ombudsman etc if the worst happens and you need to claim but they dont play ball.2 -
Thanks for the feedback. I will see if we can be added to the Wife’s policy.
Beyond that I think I am winging it.
Really appreciate the ‘sympathetic’ helpful replies. Thank you!0 -
Most policies seem to require that you be in the UK and taking out the policy prior to travel.

Sorry can't be any help - as others have said - you have to be in the UK and taken a policy out before travel.
I don't suppose you can find a local company who will insure 'foreigners'?0 -
