What's going wrong with my heuchera?

The old leaves are often getting tatty by this time of year, and need tidying up. Since it’s via the leaves that the plant loses water, I would remove them - they’ll never look as good as they used to, whatever you do. Give it a really good soak, and then keep it well watered until you go away. You can already see new leaves starting to sprout, and these will grow up and take over.
