Why does it take so long for a smart meter to connect to a new supplier?

Hopefully they will send an update if rest of system catching up.
Don't think I've ever noticed EOn name anywhere on my ihd menu - but mine's an old fairly basic monochrome model.
But given delay I'd check the date on both sections of bills as above poster who only had one supply moved suggests they may not be that robust.0 -

It's the account information sections. My IHD is fairly new0 -
My electric meter isn't showing any readings beyond the 12th, but the gas latest reading is from yesterday? Seems a bit odd? Still nothing on the IHD.0
