Posting known problem to alert others

Hi
Would be grateful if the mods or someone else could explain something for me please.
Yesterday I posted here about a problem with Charter Bank’s site when giving maturity instructions.
I wasn’t asking for help just wanted to alert anyone else in the same situation, but my post was moved to the ‘Technical’ forum.
To me, that doesn’t make sense, as in the past, someone posting here about a similar issue, has saved me time and hassle.
Even recently, seeing that some users had problems when trying to open a Progressive BS saver a/c, meant I choose not to for the moment – I wouldn’t have seen those posts if they had been on the Technical forum.
Not trying to
criticise the mods on MSE – they do a great job – just trying to
understand

Hello, I moved it because it was primarily a technical topic - you seemed to be reporting a technical issue with the Charter site. Thanks for alerting us to it.I left a link on the Savings board so you get the best of both worlds. People looking for info about technical issues on the Techie board can find it, and so can anyone looking at the Savings board. So, although it's been moved, you can still find it through the Savings board.
I totally get what you mean. Sometimes posts overlap more than one topic, and on that occasion I thought it would be beneficial to give your post a bit more reach.

I've also experienced similar, I don't spend time in any forums apart from banking/budgeting, Savings, site feedback and can see things been moved to all sorts of places such as a rant forum, a tech forum etc it's like things haven't been on topic or something when clearly they have.
I don't have the time to chase things I post etc, things are posted in the right area for me to start with to generate the best replies etc0 -
JUDEXX - Thank you for bringing this issue with the Charter Bank website to our attention. However, like you, I do question the necessity of moving it to the Tech board. Although I agree that the problem borders with technicalities, the whole essence of your post is purely to bring awareness to forum members to the issue as it relates to Charter Bank.
My understanding of the Tech board relates to members' problems regarding technical issues with their own IT setup or requiring advise/understanding of general tech issues. I have seen many posts on the BANKING or the INVESTMENTS boards where members are reporting not being able to sign in to banking sites, or having problems with ATM machines and contactless payments. Should these also be regarded as tech issues.
I don't think the subject matter of your post was 'primarily a technical topic'. On the contrary, the main focus of the post was related to the use of Charter bank website and beyond the control of any user, and I doubt if any TECH board user would find any benefit from your post itself. So NO - I don't think it was the right decision to move your post to the TECH board. With that said, I like that a link to the post was left in the original boardBefore doing something... do nothing3 -
I certainly wouldn't have gone looking in a tech forum for what was posted here. It was a specific issue relating to banking/maturity instructions and was where I'd expect to find such a post
In the same vein would posts that have been posted here for years asking about banking apps or online services that are down be moved ?
Seems like overzealousness to me as a lot of posts have recently been moved.6
