House Insurance - 'Flooding' increasing premium

Options
I'm wondering if anyone is able to help please.

I'm currently pricing up quotes for my home insurance and due to previous 'flooding' at the property I own, I'm getting quotes back for three times the amount I would if the property hadn't experienced this.
According to the insurance companies a flood occurred at the property and this is now causing the insurance quotes to be triple in price, against declaring no flooding at the property on various insurance comparison websites.
The whole thing came to light when I went to purchase home insurance for the property and when I spoke to the insurance company they said flooding had occurred. I was not aware of this when I purchased the property and I checked the Property Information form, to which the seller had declared ‘No previous flooding’ or words to that effect.
I’m just wondering if there is any way to remove this ‘mark’ on the property that the insurance companies seem to have as it not an issue that was caused by environmental factors e.g. rivers, lakes etc. which is causing the insurance cost to rise.

Any advice would be grateful.
