Currys deliver wrong computer and refuse to admit it`s their error.....Help!

Hi,
Recently i ordered a new computer as my old one was a bit dated.
I thought i would look on the Currys site and found a computer that suited my needs and ordered it on-line.
Currys then sent me a "Thanks for your order , Here`s your receipt".

What i received from Currys was a completely different Model, smaller computer screen, lower spec processor and at the time of ordering, the wrong computer they sent was £120.99 cheaper than the one i ordered.
All this information has been sent to Currys, So i am at a complete loss why they seem reluctant to resolve this obvious error on their part.
I have communicated with several different members of their complaints department and requested that someone contacts me by phone so i can explain the error they have made with my order.
I was contacted by phone by Leah from the complaints department who assured me she would sort it out, this was on Thursday 15th August 2024, she requested that i sent her a copy of the order and receipt, which i was surprised why she could not access it through their own system.
So i emailed the order and receipt to her whilst she was still on the phone, she confirmed she had received it, she told me she was off the following day on Friday but promised to call me on Saturday with updates, which i believed she would do, disappointingly i have not heard from her since, it is now Monday 19th August 2024.
Any help or advice on how to navigate Currys complaints procedure would be appreciated.

Presumably you spotted the mistake as soon as you opened it rather than after several days of use?

Why not just start the online order cancellation process and return it as "wrong item received"?

It sounds like a very obvious error that will get corrected, you're just on the wrong side of some poor/slow customer service.

I assume you have left the item boxed and unused?

Surely it's more a case of a tortuous process to correct the error rather than a refusal as such?

So some unfortunate shelf-stacker at the distribution depot in West Drayton was told to despatch a brown-boxed Acer C24-1610 and they picked up a brown-boxed Acer C22-1610 instead?

As @Aylesbury_Duck says, once Currys figure out what has happened you should get the correct delivery and that box picked up in a day or two.

It's probably not strictly Currys' error (although legally they're responsible for supplying you with the model you paid for).

Yes, I don't see how Currys have refused to admit it's their error.

Customer service agents failing to call back when they say they will seems quite a common problem.

Any chance you can pop to a local currys with invoice & computer, if they have stock they might just swap over for you.

Did that last week with no problems, albeit with a £20 phone case rather than a £450 desktop.

Pleasantly surprised, normally any interaction with Currys' CS is as frustrating as the OP's.

Curry's haven't refused to admit their error.  The person you spoke to said they would sort it out.  Maybe there was no manager to report it to available over the weekend.  It was only half way through the working day when you posted your complaint here, so you aren't giving them long to actually get things sorted.
Should somebody have called you on Saturday?  Probably, but people do get tied up with other work particularly if they are waiting for advice from a manager for example.
