If somebody applies for guarantee pension credit, do they check your bank statements, to see how much savings you have? If so, do you have to post off paper bank statements or can you upload digital ones? Thanks

They are able to if they feel the need, but won't do as a general action when processing claims. They simply don't have the staff available to do so.

We always had to show our savings. In the early days photocopies; but in later years the checks were done by phone or we could email a digital screen shot.1

Is that why, in your opinion, for it to take 11 months before I heard from them? They are able to if they feel the need, but won't do as a general action when processing claims. They simply don't have the staff available to do so.
I wasn’t asked to prove my savings so didn’t need to send them a copy of my bank statement.1
