Morning Gers, and all
It sounds like the weather is bad for you Gers?
dp1, so sorry to hear about your dear grand-daughter and DD, thinking of you all.
camelot, sorry to hear you have covid, I hope you feel better very quickly. I think it may well be a food allergy causing the redness and swelling of my face, slowly going down now so all good.
It is going to be a gentle day here, had bad news about mum’s brother having to go into hospice at the weekend, so I need to visit mum this afternoon to let her know.Apart from this, I need to do a few admin jobs, such as pay for mum’s newspapers, contact funeral directors about dad etc. I also have a sitting room that is covered in storage boxes that I need to find the energy to sort through. That will be a job for tomorrow when I can concentrate.
Thinking of you all.

Morning allStay safe @Gers@peony40 hope you get through your list of things to do today without too much stressSorry to see @dp1 GDG in hospital yet again. Lets hope they can sort her medical issues out soon and she can get back to as normal a life as she had before xOff for my walk round the local lake/park in a mo before they put the parking charges on. Am dog sitting for my son and partner from tomorrow for 10 days while they go off sunning themselves so when I come back the charges will be in place. It'll be the local park after that, well, that is, when all the travellers go and all the rubbish etc they leave behind are cleared away. Every year it's the sameHave a good day all x11

Yes, the rail end of Hurricane Ernesto is forecasted to sweep through later this morning with more effects on Wednesday. Up to 60 cm. 24 inches. Things could get difficult today. This morning I'm off to the exercise class and picking up my friend too. I'm looking forward to it again. After that I'll probably stay snug and dry at home. Yesterday I recorded 'Strangers on a train' and 'Psycho' so will watch one of them. The comedian I saw last month in Hexham has won the best joke of the Fringe. Very satisfying.@Peony - take your time with the stuff. It's very energy draining. That said, just last night it came to me what I can do with my grandmothers beautifully embroidered table clothes which I've had since my beloved DMum died in May 2021. I've been agonising over them since then as I'm the only female in this side of the family. The solution flashed into my mind just as I was nodding off! There are three adults GGdaughters on the other side who will all be there at the family celebration at the weekend so they will get one each. So, another problem with inherited goods solved and the larger cabin suitcase definitely needed. 😀
I hope that everyone has a good and not too wet day. Hugs to poorlies.12 -
Gers, thanks for the start today, and stay safe in the forecast storms. Just a bit of drizzle here in the midlands.DParents for a blood test this morning - thankfully at the same time! Then I’m off to Ludlow for a couple of nights, it’s less than an hour away but will be a nice break although I have some craft work with me to get done. There will be reading and sleeping too - probably all in equal proportions! Plus Bdog will enjoy the nearby forest.Hope there is good news for all the poorlies and their relatives and friends today x especially DP1

Morning All
Dry but blustery at the moment, like Gers we are due to have epic amounts of rain this week along with strong winds. I'll go out in the garden later to cut any flowers that will be damaged, lots of sweet peas and dahlias that I can enjoy inside.
Apart from putting washing out and taking it in again when it was dry I did nothing yesterday although I did read a whole book. Feeling a bit better this morning so hopefully the dreaded lurgy is on it's way out.
Great idea about the linen Gers, you were destined to take that bigger case - more chocolate will have to be purchased!
Hope the little one and your DDad are on the mend dp1.
Pleased to hear your swelling is going down Peony.
Sounds like you had a good time at the fair Nanny.
Sorry you had a rough time at the hospital Snoozer, hope you're feeling ok.
Enjoy a few days away Allie.
Hugs to you Mehefin.
Has anyone heard from Scarlet?
I have a few bags I use depending on what I'm up to, rucksacks are my favourite as it leaves my hands free.
Right, off for another day of sloth!
Hope you're all well, happy Monday, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Sorry I have been AWOL for a few days. I have been under a black cloud and not felt very sociable. Though I have tried to read along. Dp1 I am so sorry to read your DGD is back in hospital. I hope it's a shorter stay this time and she is soon on the mend. CAMELOT take care, my DF caught the latest strain of Covid quite a few weeks ago and she is still coughing and fed up of it dragging on. I hope the rain and gales are not as bad as forecast for you and GERS. Blooming weather. PEONY I still have boxes of crockery, ornamental plates, ginger jars etc from my DM's and she died 22 years ago. Some of it belonged to my lovely grandma and I can't bring myself to get rid of any of it. Although DD did take my DM's wedding tea set and she uses it occasionally for afternoon teas for her friends.
Re our names - I am not another Sue! I was born before the trend took off but I have met various Sues over the years, all a few years younger than me. I am another Chris, but I have forgotten who else was a Chris too! I shall have to read back.
I had an unexpected meal out yesterday! DS and his DP got back from the Canaries in the early hours and after a few hours of sleep followed by doing a mountain of washing (most of it belonging to her two lads who didn't go with them!) they decided they couldn't be bothered cooking and booked for the carvery. I was invited along which was nice. We were all gluttons and finished off with puds too.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or fed up. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all from a dreary Mehefinland
Not sure if we are going to get the tail end of the bad weather forecast for you poor souls up north. I've got that stage in my life that the cynic in me says they just stick their head out of the window and see what it's doing!
Moving on.... finally got some decisions on music for Dawn's ceremony on Thursday. Lots of heart searching, and quite few tears listening to tracks from her era. DS vetoed my choice of Vystoskyso we have settled on some from her youth. T Rex, Rod Stewart and the Waterboys.
Just emailed the FD with our choices, and also the celebrant ( who has been absolutely marvellous).
Need to sort out a few things now for the 'do'. See what clothes I have I can still get into, or will not fall off me
Still need to sort out her car and the insurance - lost the will to live last week with the various insurance companies. They can't seem to grasp that it will be a second car, and the palaver about NCD transfer completely frazzled me.
Oh well, a fresh week, so hopefully get it sorted soon
hugs and spoons as always

Morning all, thanks Gers. A bit of a nip in the air this morning, inside and out!Glad you're feeling a bit better Camelot.Peony , glad your face is getting better and hopefully your contacting the funeral director goes smoothly. Sorry to hear about mums DB.Snoozer, hopefully you are feeling a bit better today, sounds like a bad experience at the hospital for you.Nice to have our first home matchday of the new season, good to meet up with family and friends and familiar faces yesterday. Tea was pretty late on the table though, even though I'd prepped earlier. The beef olives from the butcher were very good, but big- I've put some of mine in the fridge for my lunch. I made creme brulee too.DH has got a letter from his consultant giving him a date for some new Xrays on his hip next month so at least that's a bit of progress.I was thinking about names (Sheila:)) & user names & I originally named myself after the Red Rose of Lancashire where I was born, until the borders were rearranged in the 70's, our town is now under Greater Manchester. Not changing it thoughBig kitchen clean and tidy now, take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)13

Morning all. Quite dull and grey today and no builders till Wednesday...I m quite happy about that, gives me time to do stuff...Going ot the cinema tonight with a friend, OH is on lates so...and there's some running round today so I can get things done on my list [bank, CS, SM, , which is growing.]..I'd better write an itinerary of stops, my brains so frazzled I can't even work out a logical route...Other than that, nothing much going on. I will venture in the garden after to squirrel away some bits of wood I can use for kinding and make a makeshift step out of the end bit, it's a bit of a drop from the doorway so far...mehefin, glad you got your music sorted, hope it goes a bit more smoothly for you now with choices. Peony, it must be tiring for you too even if you're not doing immediate caring. camelot, glad you're feeling better. TA, that was nice of them, glad you enjoyed. dp1, that's a shame for her, poor thing, she has a lot to cope with. Nanny, glad you enjoyed the fair. snoozer, well that sounds completely rubbish, hope you're better today...Gers, good thinking! Alie, well planned having them both together..Rosy, good to hear things are moving for your DH and the football season has started
Take care all, stay safe and dry!
