CETV greater value than marital assets in a divorce

The pension pot is part of the marital assets, so it's not a case of 'marital assets, £120K, Pension £145K" it's a total pot of around £265K of which £145K is pension.
Normally a court would order a pensions actuary's report to work out what the split of the pension needs to be - the actuary can calaculte the real life value ofthe pension - both to work out what% of it should be trnafrerred to equalise income in retirement for the partie, and to give an indication of how it can be offset against the oher assets if desied (e.g. if they wanted to have the non-pensioned spouse taking al/ more of the other assets in return for not claiing ./ claiming less of the pesnions, then the actually can set out what % the pension shre would be reduced by for each £10,000 of extra capital going to the other spouse. )
