Private Car parking ticket - however paid but ticket was wrong way around, please advise?

Hi all
I received a PCN from a private car parking company today - ticket was for 'Parked without a valid pay and display ticket or valid parking session'. I had purchased an all day ticket on my bank card however I had accidentally placed the ticket upside down when I placed it on the dashboard.
Can I appeal this - this seems harsh as their own photos show the upside down ticket with a clear reference number that is on both sides of the ticket which they could have surely cross referenced with the ticket machine to confirm that I had indeed paid for the parking.
The fine is £60 but goes up to £100 - I already paid so it feels harsh to have to pay the fine on top of the original - any ideas on how best to appeal this?
Thanks in advance

Of course you can appeal but don’t expect them to roll over and accept your appeal. They are only interested in getting as much money as possible. Was the ticket up side down or face down so the details could not be seen? Which parking company was it? Take some photos of the signs and especially the T&Cs as they are the basis of any claim for breach of contract they will make2

Go back and read some of your earlier threads.
Which parking company is involved?
I struggle to understand how one could 'accidentally' place a ticket upside down.
The company is Secure Parking Solutions Ltd
P.S What do you mean 'read my earlier threads'0 -

I'm just suggesting that you might want to review how you did that previously rather than 'starting again' by asking for exactly the same help and guidance that you received some time ago.
It's a win-win... you don't have to write out so many questions and others don't have to repeat stuff already given to you previously.4 -

No it's fine and we want to help. Just read the NEWBIES FAQS thread. Nobody pays this lot.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Tell them that when you opened the envelope the PCN was upside down and you cannot pay it! OR follow the guidance given of course.0
