Which fence paint

Hi, I need to get some fence paint.
I'm considering either Johnstone's (woodcare one coat shed & fence) and Spear & Jackson (shed and fence timbercare). Both £10 for 9l tub. I can't afford Cuprinol (9l for £22), I have 21 full sized panels to paint so will need need 2 tubs minimum.
Can anyone advise which paint out of those 2 is better? Thanks!

Never used any of these products so can’t help you in that respect. However you should weigh up the longevity of the respective products. Cuprinol have been around this field for a long time so although it’d cost more (£44 v £20) could well prove a better investment in the long run. Buy one of the others and may end up doing it all again in 5 years and 22 panels is an awful lot of fence panels. As I say, I’ve no experience of any of these products.0

Depending on how long it has been since the fence was last painted, you will be surprised at how much you will need. For 21 full size fence panels we used about 7 large tins of Cuprinol Ducksback. Each panel needed 2 or 3 coats as they hadn't been painted for several years.1

About half of the panels have never been painted and the other half were painted a long time ago, the paint is peeled off to the point that you can see the bare wood underneath in many places and the bits that still have paint are very faded. If the whole lot needs 2 coats, it's going to be expensive then...juliedee4663 said:Depending on how long it has been since the fence was last painted, you will be surprised at how much you will need. I bought S&J a year or so ago, as they had them stacked up in SF, I think it was, and they had the 'charcoal' colour I wanted.
Well, it was mid-grey and not charcoal, and noticeably more watery than Cuprinol.
Personally, never again.
Johnson is generally a decent brand. Perhaps worth buying one pot and testing?0 -
Any neighbours or family that may have a leftover can? Then perhaps as @ThisIsWeird suggests try a small area, after all 21 panels is a lot to paint only to decide you don’t like it0
