Rescuing a jacket - contrasting collar?
Options
In an effort to remove a stain from the collar or my favourite jacket, I've inadvertently wrecked the collar by completely wearing away a spot of fabric. My tailor has advised that the only way to save it is by finding the same fabric & colour, or by jazzing it up with a different coloured fabric that she can apply to the collar (and maybe the pockets as well).
Ive attached a pic of it (please excuse the tardy state of it - its been crumpled in a bag). The jacket is a very light beige colour and is cotton (I think). I'm hoping someone can come up with ideas as to what fabric and colour I could use to put on the collar and pockets that would make it look like it was intended that way. I usually wear it with jeans or chinos and a white t shirt or blue shirt so I'd like it to remain relaxed look and not tardy or loud. Thanks in advance (and hope!).
Ps. There's nowhere on that jacket that material can be taken from.

Couldn’t you cut a rectangle as long as needed from the fabric immediately under the fold over part of the collar or from the underside of those pockets, and neatly stitch it on, making it as central as possible so as when on it looks just like a design feature. I have done similar in the past.0

No, I've checked everywhere which is why I said that there's nowhere on the jacket that material can be taken from.0

What about a liberty print fabric? Loads of options and I think would look lovely with the main jacket colour.1

A slightly darker fabric? Then maybe pipe the rest of the jacket with bias binding cut from the same fabric, then it would look as if it was meant to be that way!
Not sure of the effect?
Draw a simplified jacket shape & 'play' with ideas- contrast collar, pockets & sleeve edges, dark collar, bias edge etc. This costs pretty much nothing except paper & a few coloured pencils & you should see what you like.
I think changing the pockets will be a hassle!
Maybe a denim collar?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
