DLA for child with dermatitis and neural detergent disorder

A parent is Trying to apply for DLA for a child under 16, struggling to get appointments for both issues.
the school has kind of diagnosed would that be enough? They say the child gets extra time for exams and the school often sends them home as the skin condition is so bad.
next time we see the specialists what can I ask them for a letter or something to apply for DLA?

Have you read the criteria for DLA? It’s about their care needs and any extra support they need with that over and above a child of a similar age.
You’ve only given examples at school. What about when they are at home?
The school may have “kind of diagnosed” but Is there evidence from the GP given that the parents are trying to get appointments? What about an EHCP?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Yes school has EHC plan, special needs for the neural divergence. Doctors keep prescribing things but not working.
parents need to give a lot more care than a child of similar age without these conditions0 -

Care component
The rate the child gets depends on the level of looking after they need, for example:
- lowest rate - help for some of the day
- middle rate - frequent help or constant supervision during the day, supervision at night or someone to help while they’re on dialysis
- highest rate - help or supervision throughout both day and night, or a medical professional has said they might have 12 months or less to live
Mobility component
The rate the child gets depends on the level of help they need getting about, for example:
- lowest rate - they can walk but need help and or supervision when outdoors
- highest rate - they cannot walk, can only walk a short distance without severe discomfort, could become very ill if they try to walk or they’re blind or severely sight impaired

Thought this was a wind up post. Detergent disorder and dermatitis.
I can see from subsequent posts that it was a mistype or predictive typing for the title and you mean Divergent Disorder. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2 -

To my mind neurodivergence isn't necessarily a disorder but a difference, of course some divergence can be medical disorders But that's just me I guess some neurotypicals think all different is disorder.0 -

Then it’s up to the severity of the condition to then decide on DLA. For instance my neurodivergent son was allowed extra time in exams, tried speech to text and scribe for exams. He was afforded 1-1 sessions as a catch up lesion (which meant dropping a language which he was happy about).
Hes struggling with life at the moment (now aged 19) but the only real effect his neurodivergent condition had was educational and only some small behavioural issues.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
